Insulin, Glucose and You

When you have diabetes, your body either doesn't produce any or enough insulin, or is resistant to the insulin you are able to make. This creates a chain reaction of events in the body that can impact your health.

This video illustrates how insulin works in the body and why it's so important to your health. Watch as insulin unlocks cells so they are able to take in the glucose, which in turn provides much needed energy. It also shows what happens to these cells as a result of having too little insulin or rejecting the insulin that is available.
